'Limb-different' youths can join All Sports Summer Camp, July 18-22

DU QUOIN - The dates have been set for the NubAbility All-Sports Summer Camp in Du Quoin. It is the week of July 18-22. This particular camp is the organization's longest-running and most popular camp, which is designed for limb-different youth ages 4-17.

"We offer 20 different sports coached by 70-plus limb-different athletes and mentors to over 150 limb-different youth," said Jana Kuhnert, one of the organization founders. "We are building champions. This past year, seven former campers and current junior coaches are going to be or are college athletes. We are a sports camp that replaces pity with respect of the right for our athletes' ability to compete. The support happens magically as youth are coached and mentored by someone that looks like them."

Activities offered at the camp include: archery, baseball, softball, lacrosse, basketball, fishing, football, shooting, soccer, track and field, tumbling, cheer, dance, volleyball, wrestling, strength, speed and agility, yoga, swimming, golf and tennis, which is new this year.

The NubAbility organization is also sponsoring a Game Changer contest for free camp registration and a swag bag.
