NRG debuts in Chester

Grace Church hosted the first event of No Regular Gathering, commonly known as "NRG," on June 3.

According to the group's Facebook page, NRG is comprised of ordinary people, tired of the status quo and the struggles of everyday life, who are working together to create positivity in their community through music and inspirational messages.

"We want families to come and experience quality time in a positive environment," NRG posted on May 27. "We want those single mothers and fathers to come and see that they're not alone.

"We want someone with an addiction to hear us say that we love them and we are here!"

NRG stated that the only requirement for attendance was to come with an open heart and mind.

"We have not and will not ever judge anyone where they are in their walk of life," NRG stated.

A trailer for the June 3 show noted "A movement is coming" and "a change through acceptance and love" where "no one is judged no matter what you've done."

"I think the biggest thing we hoped everybody took away from it was the acceptance and no matter who you are, you are welcome," said Brad Coleman, one of the members of NRG.

Coleman estimated a crowd of 300 people attended the June 3 event, which had an encore on Sunday morning.

"Our whole goal is to be an outreach to the community to show that everybody has a place and someone loves them and we try to tie that into that a form of music all the way through the end of the message," Coleman said.

Coleman noted NRG is planning on more events in the future and is advising interested people to visit the group's Facebook page at facebook.com/nrgchester/.

"We haven't buttoned down anything as far as dates, but we will real soon," Coleman said. "They will range from stuff that we did on Friday and Sunday to movie nights within the community.

"It kind of grew out of the vision from myself and Jeff Krieg and our main goal is the community as a whole coming together and doing stuff for the good of kids and the community."
