Police blotter from the SIU campus

The following information was obtained from Southern Illinois University. Note that arrests and charges are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

12/06: SIU student Rondarian Bell, 21, of Carbondale was arrested on charges of retail theft at the Chick-Fil-A in the SIU Student Center at 11:18 a.m. Bell was issued a Carbondale city notice-to-appear and released.

12/08: At about 2:01 a.m., at the Marion Street Storage, criminal damage to state property - a fence - was damaged. There are no suspects.

12/09: At about 3 p.m., at SIU Arena, a theft of a vape cigarette occurred. There are no suspects.

At about 12:30 p.m., in parking lot 106, a Tommy Hilfiger backpack was stolen out of a vehicle. The vehicle was also damaged due to forcible entry. The investigation is ongoing and there are no suspects.

12/11: SIU student Alec Waugh, 18, of Carbondale was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis, at about 10:07 p.m., at Bowyer Hall. He was issued a Carbondale pay-by-mail citation and released.

SIU student Cheyenne Martinez, 19, of Bolingbrook was arrested on charges of battery at 10:04 p.m., at University Hall. She was issued a Carbondale city notice to appear and released. The victim, a 19-year-old SIU student did not require medial treatment.

12/12: SIU student Kevin Cortopossi, 20, of Lake In The Hills, was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis, at about 9:29 p.m., in parking lot 45. He was issued a Carbondale City pay-by-mail citation and released.

12/13: SIU student Jenobia Valencia Jones, 19, of St. Louis, was arrested on charges of battery at about 12:29 a.m., at Mae Smith Hall. Jones posted $160 bond and was released. The victim, an 18-year-old SIU student, did not require medical treatment.
