Rotary honors Kipp for lifetime donor service

Longtime Rotarian Ralph Kipp was recognized by Rotary International for his major donor history during the March 7 Chester Rotary Club meeting.

Marc Kiehna, Rotary assistant governor and member of the Red Bud Rotary Club, presented a diamond studded pin to Kipp. "It is an honor to express our appreciation to you, Mr. Kipp, for your substantial donations to 'doing good throughout the world' and specifically to the effort of eliminating polio across the world through Rotary's Polio Plus Program," Kiehna said.

Kipp's significant donations to Rotary International, Kiehna continued, have made big differences in the lives of others and qualify Kipp for the Major Donor I level.

Kiehna encouraged all members to follow the precepts of Rotary International and its Christian ideology by giving of their time, talents and treasures.

Donations to Rotary International enable the organization to promote peace around the world, to fight disease, provide clean water, sustain mothers and children, improve education and strengthen local economics.

Ralph Kipp is a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest award given to any individual member of Rotary International. He stated that the Polio Plus program is very near and dear to his heart and that, because of the work of Rotary

International, there are now only about 20 documented cases of polio throughout the world.
