Murphysboro to overhaul city website City also changes meeting dates at mayor's request

Murphysboro Mayor Will Stephens told council members at the start of the last regular monthly meeting that the city's website is being overhauled.

"It will cost $4,000, which includes updates and changes for the first year," he said.

The mayor directed anyone interested to the website for Logan City, Utah, which was designed and implemented by the company that will be overhauling Murphysboro's, Revise.

"It's user-friendly and very sharp looking," Stephens said. "They have a team that will transfer all of our content to the new site, so we won't lose anything. The whole thing should be done and up within the next 90 days."

The mayor said there would be an annual maintenance fee, that the website would be overhauled every four years, and that the city could opt out of the arrangement at any time.

May council meeting dates changed

Stephens asked the council for their approval to change the dates for the May council meetings because of a trip he will be taking. "I will be going to Springfield on May 8 and 9 for the Edgar Fellows," he said.

The five-day leadership training program is held at the University of Illinois. The council voted to move May's meetings to the 15th and 29th.
