Tony Gerard to present history tales Monday at Trail of Tears

Local living history expert Tony Gerard will be the presenter at the Shawnee Chapter Illinois Audubon Society's annual Under the Stars and Around the Campfire program Monday, April 23.

The free public program will take place at 7 p.m. at the Trail of Tears State Forest, located east of Rt. 127 just north of Jonesboro.

Gerard will present mid-18th century southern Illinois history from the point of view of someone who was there.
