SIU police blotter

May 23

A Stihl chainsaw was reported stolen from a motor vehicle at lot 10. Police have no suspects but continue to investigate.

May 24

A 20-year-old non-SIU student was identified in an incident of panhandling at the Student Center Starbucks. No citation was issued.

May 25

Police arrested Landon N. Heinberg, 19, of Carterville, a non-SIU student, at 11:47 p.m. at Wall and Grand Apartments building 1 on a charge of underage consumption of alcohol. Heinberg was issued a citation and released.

May 26

Police arrested Bryce A. Wright, 21, of Carbondale, non-SIU student, at 12:49 a.m. at East Grand Avenue and South Wall Street on charges of DUI and driving with no headlights. Wright posted his driver's license and $100 cash bond.

May 30

Police arrested David D. Collins, 29, of Matteson, a non-SIU student, at 7:30 p.m. at the SIU Arena on a charge of theft of toilet paper. Collins was issued a notice to appear and released.
