Du Quoin High School gearing up for Homecoming

DU QUOIN - This week marks Homecoming Week in the city of Du Quoin. Students at the high school are participating in Spirit Days all week.

On Monday, they dressed in pajamas. Today (Tuesday), they bring out their inner preppy as part of Frat Boy and Frat Girl Day. On Wednesday, students are encouraged to dress like a favorite movie character. On Thursday, it is teacher look-alike day. And on Friday, it's the traditional Red and Black day.

The Homecoming parade is set for 3 p.m. Thursday. It will start at the high school. From the high school, the parade heads north on Line Street and then turns west on Main Street. It proceeds down Main Street up to Division, where it turns north and then back east on Park Street where it disassembles at the park.

The varsity football game is set for 7 p.m. Friday at Van Metre Field with the Indians playing host to the Sparta Bulldogs. There will also be a variety of class reunions this week, including the Class of '68 celebrating its 50th or golden reunion.
