Roeslein receives award

Inductive Automation presented Roeslein & Associates with the Ignition Firebrand Award for the project it completed for Dana Incorporated on Sept. 20.

The award is presented to companies who successfully implemented exceptional real-world Ignition applications.

Starting in March, Roeslein has incorporated Ignition into six facilities, with 20 planned for the near future. Based on the applications Roeslein has installed, Dana has seen a 30 percent improvement in some sites. Other sites have seen expedited launch curves - some launches that normally take six months, are now only taking six weeks.

For Roeslein, the project's success has opened up a multitude of opportunities at Dana's facilities.

"Roeslein's expertise in Ignition really shines through in the way that they design projects to be picked up and dropped off in any plant quickly," said Remus Pop, business analyst at Dana. "We look at this project as version one.

"As we continue to grow and get feedback from operators and leadership, we see this growing into a Dana Standard to be implemented plant-wide," he added.

Roeslein's team focused on providing Dana a way to take information provided by its machines and display it in a manner that improved performance of Dana's workforce and also discovered production line problem areas to help meet the requirements of Dana's Industry 4.0 Initiative. Roeslein developed an adaptable and flexible Ignition project by which each plant, no matter how different, could use the same data as the other plants.
