Steeleville Oktoberfest a success, fer sure!

There may have been some rain on the scarecrow, but "I Love A Rainy Night" was a more appropriate mood for Steeleville as people came out to participate and enjoy the 36th annual Steeleville Jaycee Oktoberfest on Oct. 12-13.

Crowds braved the rain to watch the annual Oktoberfest parade Oct. 12, with this year's theme "A Totally Radical 80s Oktoberfest." Floats and participants were decked out as popular 80s pop culture

In addition to the parade, festgoers enjoyed a variety show, street dancing, a craft fair, wood carving exhibitions and a number of family-friendly activities during the event.

New to the festival this year was the Dachshund Derby race, which was won by Ernie, owned by Jeff, Emma and Reese Mulholland.

The day was topped off with Mi'Amore Gorden being crowned Little Miss Oktoberfest, and ended with residents dancing in the streets to the popular regional band Johnny Rock-ITT,<links>
<data>
