Carbondale honors two retiring employees

The Carbondale City Council honored two retiring employees Tuesday evening.

The council passed resolutions commending the service of Lt. Mark Goddard of the Carbondale Police Department and firefighter Teresa Richards of the Carbondale Fire Department.

Goddard began his service with Carbondale Police as a patrol officer in December 1991. He was promoted to sergeant in 2007 and lieutenant in 2010. Goddard retired Jan. 7.

Richards began her employment with the city in September 1996 as a facility support worker. She was hired as a probationary firefighter and promoted to firefighter in December 1999. Richards retired Dec. 28.
