Police seek two in burglary

Carbondale Police continue to seek suspects in a Christmas burglary at a local liquor store.

Police report that officers responded to the reported burglary Dec. 25 at Illinois Liquor Mart, located at 829 E. Main St. The suspects reportedly entered the closed business and stole merchandise, arriving and leaving in what appears to have been a gray or beige Honda car.

The suspects appeared to be a black male and a white male in their late teens or early 20s, both of slim build. The police department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects.

Domino's driver robbed by unknown suspects

Shortly after 11 p.m. Jan. 2, Carbondale Police responded to a report of a robbery of a Domino's Pizza delivery driver in the 400 block of East Mill Street.

While outside of his car making a food delivery, the driver reportedly was approached by two subjects, one of which brandished a handgun. The suspects then stole the food delivery, currency and items from the victim's vehicle before fleeing on foot. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

The first suspect is described as a 40-year-old black male, standing about 5-foot-9 and wearing baggy clothes. The second suspect was described as a black male in his early teens with a shoulder-length dreadlock hairstyle, also wearing dark clothes.
