Du Quoin Police warn of counterfeit $100 bills circulating in town

DU QUOIN - The Du Quoin Police Department has recently received several complaints of individuals passing counterfeit $100 bills. These bills are easily distinguishable by the red Asian writing on the back of the bill. There have been recent attempts to mark over the Asian writing with a marker or pen. These bills are easily obtained, but will mark as a counterfeit with a testing pen and the watermark is not present.

Please be diligent and observe $100 bills when you take them as payment. A simple test can keep you from taking a counterfeit bill.
