CCHS class of '19 featured seven as valedictorians

Carbondale Community High School awarded diplomas to more than 260 seniors on May 18 at SIU Arena.

Sharing top honors at the graduation were seven valedictorians - Jonah Biggers, Megan Bily, Peter Huh, Aditi Kumar, Ian Kinsel, Sean Stuart and Emma Turk - who all had a 4.44 grade point average; this year, there was a single salutatorian, Sarah Petrovich.

The 2019 graduates will be enrolling at Southern Illinois University, University of Illinois, University of Missouri, Depauw University, Yale University, St. Louis University, Illinois State University, John A. Logan College, University of Southern Indiana and Indiana University and the Air Force Academy and United States Army.
