As part of efforts to raise funds for the construction of Carbondale's first public dog park, the Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks, in conjunction with the Carbondale Park District, is sponsoring a "Lucky Dog Raffle" with over $2,000 in prizes to be awarded to the winners.

The grand prize is a Branson vacation for two valued at $625 with flexible choices of hotel lodging, attractions and shows. Other prizes include an original painting of a dog by local artist Barb Allen, a 12-foot maple or oak shade tree planted by Greenridge Landscaping, four rounds of golf at Hickory Ridge Golf Course, a one-hour sight-seeing flight over southern Illinois for two, dining and food certificates from local Carbondale restaurants and bakeries, two handcrafted silk scarves, handmade ceramic coasters, and a Norman Rockwell figurine with a dog theme.

Raffle tickets are $5 each or $20 for five. Tickets can be purchased at the LIFE Community Center, the Carbondale Main Street Office and Cristaudo's. Raffle tickets can also be purchased from members of the board of directors of Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks.

Winning tickets will be drawn Saturday, Oct. 26.
