Carbondale woman hits man with pickup

A Carbondale woman was uninjured after striking a pedestrian with her truck on Illinois 127 in Perry County last week.

The Illinois State Police report that at around 9:51 p.m. on Sept. 6, Diane W. Gutierrez, 52, of Carbondale was traveling southbound on Illinois Route 127 at approximately Private Road 46 when she struck John P. Bouchard, 18, of Pinckneyville.

Bouchard was standing in the southbound lane after having a previous four-wheeler crash.

Bouchard was flown by ARCH to Saint Louis University Hospital. Gutierrez was not injured. Officials say charges are pending.
