Golf fundraiser planned for Jason Houghland Saturday

PINCKNEYVILLE - Red Hawk Golf Club will host a benefit scramble for Jason Houghland of Pinckneyville at 12:30 p.m. this Saturday.

Houghland continues to receive treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. for Von-Hippel Lindau. All proceeds raised from this benefit will be donated to Houghland to help alleviate medical expenses.

Those who would like to make a monetary donation are invited to send it to: Jason Houghland VHL Fund, Murphy-Wall State Bank, 105 E. Water St., Pinckneyville, IL, 62274.

This golf outing marks the eighth annual scramble fundraiser for Houghland. Registration gets underway at 12:30 with a shotgun start set for 1 p.m. Dinner with awards will follow 18 holes of golf, or about 6 p.m.

Cost to play is $50 per person or $200 per four-member team. There will also be a skins contest for $20, closest-to-the-pin competition on all Par 3s, a longest-drive contest for both men and women, mulligans at $5 apiece, and prizes for first-, second- and third-place teams. Additionally, there will be a 550/50 raffle, basket raffle, a barrel of booze raffle, gun raffle and more.

If not golfing, you can come out for dinner at a cost of 410 for adults and $6 for children ages 4-10. Children 3 and under eat for free.
