Chester school board meeting: 7 p.m. in the Chester Community Grade School conference room, 650 Opdyke St. Public invited.

CHS Girls Volleyball: Away games at Goreville, varsity at 7:30 p.m.; JV at 6:30 p.m.

CHS Yellow Jacket Football: 7 p.m. away game as the 1-2 Jackets go to McLeansboro to take on the Hamilton County Foxes.

<b>Saturday, Sept. 21</b>

4-H Scavenger Hunt: 6 p.m. at Sparta City Park. Learn more about Randolph County 4-H through a scavenger hunt. Event is free and open to current 4-H members or youth ages 5-18 interested in learning more about 4-H. Info: Randolph County Extension Office, (618) 443-4364.

CHS JV Football: 6:15 p.m. home game vs. Hamilton County.

"Pass The Paddle": 6:30 p.m. at the Chester Public Library, 733 State St. The Rev. Jerry Schumm discusses his memoir, "Pass The Paddle: Mississippi Dreamin' Come Hell or High Water," about his journey down the Mississippi River from the headwaters at Lake Itasca, Minnesota, to New Orleans. "It was an excursion like no other. Jerry never paddled alone. Friends and family members signed up for 'legs' of the river.
