The Carbondale Thrift Shop at 215 N. Illinois Ave. has made a contribution to the Carbondale Warming Center.
Dan Becque, president of the board, delivered the check to Scott Martin.
Becque noted that the board appreciates the support the local community has given the Thrift Shop and they are "paying it forward" by helping others in the community.
The Warming Center is located at 608 E. College St. and is open to everyone from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. each night until mid-March.
Upgrades were made this year to better sanitary conditions and strengthen security.
The center is in need of volunteers. Those interested should visit carbondale warmingcenter.weebly.com.
The Thrift Shop accepts donations of used clothes, furniture, and household items, including Christmas trees and decorations, and resells them at bargain prices.
