Dora G. Hargrave of Shawneetown

SHAWNEETOWN - Dora G. Hargrave, 86, a longtime Shawneetown resident, passed on this life on Nov. 14, 2017, in Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare.

Dora was born Sept. 18, 1931 in the Shawneetown bottoms, to P.A. and Flossie (Flahardy) Randall.

She was married to James Hargrave, who preceded her in death.

Dora worked as a caregiver most of her life. She was a faithful member of Shawneetown United Methodist Church and helped for years in the church food pantry.

Dora loved to talk with her friends, but she especially loved her grandchildren.

She will be missed by many.

Survivors include her son, Virgil and Judy Hargrave of Shawneetown; grandchildren, Brandi and Mike Rushing and Bryan Hargrave; great-grandchildren, Noah and Dylan Rushing; brother, Jessie Randall; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings Louise Walker, Carrie Kutev, Olan Randall, Robert Randall, Bessie Smith and Diane Lashbrook.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, in Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown with the Rev. Cherie Wilkerson officiating. Dora was laid to rest next to her husband in Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the food pantry.
