Helen Marie Gibson of Carrier Mills

CARRIER MILLS - Helen Marie Gibson, 88, of 402 W. Harrison St., Carrier Mills, died at 7:02 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Griffin will officiate.

Mrs. Gibson was born on July 28, 1929 in Okema, Oklahoma to the late William Daniel and Betty Elizabeth (Nellie) Rippy.

She married Carl Thomas Gibson on March 15, 1952.

Mrs. Gibson was a former member of Herod Springs Baptist Church and the New Salem Baptist Church in Carrier Mills. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles and working in her flower gardens.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by her Husband, Carl Thomas Gibson of Carrier Mills; four children, Donald (Debbie) Gibson of Chesapeake, Virginia, Sharon Gibson of Muddy, William (Michele) Gibson of Galatia and Nancy (Darry) Breeze of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
