Jack D. Simpson of Harrisburg

HARRISBURG - Jack D. Simpson, 77, passed away at 7:48 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, in Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

He was born June 21, 1940, in Harrisburg to William Hubert and Vergie (Belt) Simpson. On Jan. 30, 1959, he married Linda Sue Bundren.

Jack was a member of First Christian Church of Harrisburg.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Sue Simpson of Harrisburg; son, Richard (Rachael) Simpson of Beavercreek, Ohio; son, Robert (Tina) Simpson of Tamaroa; daughter, Rena (Matt) Fritch of Metropolis; son, Rhett (Jennifer) Simpson of Freeburg; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Simpson, Bret Simpson, Emily Roessner, Haley Simpson, Sam Simpson, Cullen Simpson, Braden Fritch, Karsyn Fritch, Reese Simpson and Jack Simpson; four great-grandchildren, Sophia and Olivia Simpson and Jack and Evelyn Roessner; three sisters-in-law, Linda Lou Simpson, Carol Simpson and Vickie Simpson; and brother-in-law, Roy Hughes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 11 brothers and sisters, Bill Simpson, Helen Gulley, Mable Simpson, Wilma Gulley, Naida Rose, Jim Simpson, Dorris Hughes, Mary Berkel, Troy Simpson, Johnny Simpson and Roy Simpson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Biff Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Ingram Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Harrisburg or American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
