Mickey G. Hindman of Marion

MARION - Mickey G. Hindman, 73, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 3:21 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, in Baptist Health Paducah.

He was born Sept. 9, 1944, in Anna to Pat and Olive (Casper) Hindman.

Mickey grew up in Anna and graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in 1962. He attended Southern Illinois University before entering his long career in insurance.

He was united in marriage to Rita Sue Nelson on Jan. 8, 1965, in Jonesboro, and together they shared over 53 years of marriage.

Mickey worked in various capacities for the insurance industry from 1966 to 2009.

He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church in Anna. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Rita S. Hindman of Marion; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Michael Parker of Cape Girardeau and Michelle and Dennis Sourbis of Stonefort; five grandchildren, Adam Parker, Derek Parker, Stephanie Scholz, Alayna Scholz and Tealla Sourbis; and brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Penny Hindman of Anna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill and Terry Hindman.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, in Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Larue Parr presiding. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Dongola. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home.
