Bonnie J. Ollis of Marion

Bonnie J. Ollis, age 78, of Marion, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at her home.

She was born on Monday, May 29, 1939, in Johnson County, the daughter of John Edward and Ruby Jewell (Barringer) Moss.

Bonnie grew up and attended school in Goreville, and was a graduate of Goreville High School Class of 1957.

She was united in marriage to Ronald Allen Ollis on Oct. 15, 1966, and together they shared over 51 years of marriage.

She was a member the Marion First Apostolic Church, where she served as church secretary for many years. In earlier years, she was employed by Peerless Cleaners and Roth Cleaners in Marion before taking the position of secretary for her church for 40 years.

She was a loving wife and enjoyed caring for her home. She was devoted to her family and her church family and was always there to help when she could. The many memories that have been created will now be cherished by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Ollis, of Marion; sister and brother-in-law, Verna M. and Bill Patterson of Goreville; and brother-in-law, Joe Ollis, and his wife, Gwen, of Creal Springs; several nieces and nephews, other extended family, and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Betty Wolaver, on Aug. 1, 2001.

Arrangements for Bonnie have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St., Marion.

The visitation for the family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at the Marion First Apostolic Church of Marion. The visitation will resume on Thursday, April 19 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joel Gray and Rev. Ronald G. Walls officiating.

Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery of Marion.
