Amanda Nicole Viernum, formerly of Du Quoin

Amanda Nicole Viernum, 30, of Fort Sill, Oklahoma and formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at Lawton, Oklahoma.

Amanda was a homemaker. She was born July 18, 1988 in Carbondale, the daughter of Herbert Tracy and Barbara Jean (Betts) Smith. She married Shane Viernum on Sept. 8, 2012 in Royalton, and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; one son, Malcolm Elias Viernum of Fort Sill; her mother, Barbara Jean Smith of Du Quoin; her father, Herbert Tracy Smith of Du Quoin; father-in-law Sean (Lisa) Viernum of Centralia; mother-in-law Laurie (Greg) McCarter of Hermiston, Oregon; special friend, Summer June Juhl, of Du Quoin; friend, Katy Holloman of Marion; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was loved by all.

Amanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Sharon Smith; maternal grandparents, James and Junetta Betts; and her favorite cousin and co-video gamer, Jeremy Smith.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with the Rev. Jerrod Manning officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Old Du Quoin Cemetery.

Friends may make memorials to the family, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
