Jennifer Lynn Steapleton of Harrisburg

Jennifer Lynn Steapleton, age 60, of Harrisburg, passed away at home with her loved ones around her. She has gone to be with the Lord.

Jennifer was born on Dec. 21, 1958 in Harrisburg to Bob and Emma (Futrell) Horton. She married Paul Steapleton on Jan. 30, 1979.

Jennifer was a homemaker and a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Equality Church of God. She loved her family, her church, gardening, flowers and hunting arrowheads.

Jennifer leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Paul Steapleton; her mother, Emma Horton; sisters and brothers, Reva (Ralph) Ditterline, Jeff (Tammy) Horton, Vickie (Justin) Smith, Zane (Ashley) Horton and Bobby Horton; brother and sister-in-law, Mark Steapleton and Kathy Morton; several nieces and nephews who were like her own children, Crystal, Hattie, Barbara, Maggie, Johnathan, Karson, Casey, Bradley, Leah and Haley; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Bob Horton; brother, Steven Ray Horton; nephews Clinton Dale Horton, Eric Ray Horton and Zack Morton; niece, Sarah Horton; her in-laws, Ralph and JoAnn Steapleton; and brother-in-law, Arty Morton.

Funeral services for Jennifer Lynn Steapleton will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Pastor Peggy Winters will officiate and burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
