Esther Bonita 'Bonnie' Jones of Harrisburg

Esther Bonita "Bonnie" Jones, age 92, of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:53 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born April 23, 1926 in Harrisburg to the late Raymond and Nellie Furlong, but was raised by Nellie and Joe Dudley.

On March 17, 1945 she married Cletus Dale "Cotton" Jones and he preceded her in death April 9, 2017. She was a member of the Land Street Missionary Baptist Church.

Bonnie is survived by her four children, Jack (Sandy) Jones of Mackinaw, Carol (the late Roger) Rann of Raleigh, Kendall Jones and Tammy Omohundro of Marion, and Jeff (Beth) Jones of Henderson, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ova Lee Reynolds of Carrier Mills and Barbara (Doug) Young of Carrier Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cletus "Cotton" Jones; two brothers, Leon and Murrell Dowdy; and one sister, Monzelle Butler.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Kendall Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reed Funeral Chapel.
