Gwen Lee VanBibber of Harrisburg

Gwen Lee VanBibber, age 91, of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at Saline Care Center.

Gwen was born on Oct. 28, 1928 in Alton to the late Oscar and Mildred (Elders) Williams. On March 18, 1949, she married Charles V. VanBibber, and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1994.

Gwen was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg and she worked for GTE as a repair clerk for 25 years.

Gwen is survived by a daughter, Becky Wenzel of Harrisburg; grandson, Benjamin (Holly) Wenzel and their children Cameron, Chris and Anna Sue, all of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and grandson, Daniel (Meredith) Wenzel and their children, Hannah, Jacob, Ethan and Caleb, all of Harrisburg.

Graveside services for Gwen Lee VanBibber will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Chuck DePriest and Daniel Wenzel will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and envelopes will be available at the cemetery.
