Randall Alan Powell of Harrisburg

Randall Alan Powell, age 50, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:18 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 at his residence in Harrisburg.

Randall was born on July 14, 1969, in Eldorado, to Nancy (Davis) Powell and the late Darrell F. Powell.

He was baptized at and was a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.

Randall worked as a tankerman on a tow boat for 10 years.

He then worked in mine construction and most recently was an Illinois High School Association umpire. He was a big baseball fan and loved being an IHSA umpire. He took excellent care of his mother following his father's death.

Randall is survived by his mother, Nancy Powell of Harrisburg; sister, Wendy Ellis and husband Pervis of Harrisburg; brother, Russell Powell and wife Leslie of Mount Vernon, Indiana; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Jess) Moore of Galatia, Cacy Ellis of Harrisburg, and Erin (Clayton) Gulley of Carrier Mills, and Jonathan Powell, David Powell and Benjamin Powell, all of Mount Vernon, Indiana; two great-nieces, Rory and Junie Moore of Galatia; and several cousins.

In addition to his father, Randall was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Thelma Powell, and his maternal grandparents, John and Marie Davis.

Memorial services will begin at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Russell Powell will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
