Karen Sue Stillwell of Stonefort

Karen Sue Stillwell, 73, of Stonefort, Illinois, died at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Reids Chapel Cemetery and the Rev. Nolen Reynolds will officiate.

She was born on June 26, 1946 in Cook County, Illinois to the late Leo William and Mary Virginia (Principe) McDermott.

She married Robert "Bob" E. Stillwell Sr. on Dec. 24, 1969 and he survives.

She was a self-employed bookkeeper, she enjoyed going to the river and visiting with the grandchildren, and she loved to read. She was also a member of the Carrier Mills American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 364.

Karen is survived by her husband, Robert E. Stillwell Sr. of Stonefort; three children, Miki (Jackie) Cantrell of Stonefort, Tonya (Matt) Blackman of Stonefort and Robert (Nikki) Stillwell Jr. of Sturgis, Kentucky; two brothers, John (Debbie) McDermott of Stonefort and Tom (Sue) McDermott of Carrier Mills; three sisters, Colleen Benson of Harrisburg, Judy (Bob) Comer of Carrier Mills and Nora Fitzgerald of Carrier Mills; seven grandchildren, Amber Hovatter, Jacob Blackman, Spencer Hulett, Joe Stillwell, Brittany Blackman, Tyler Cantrell and Josh Stillwell; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cora Foster.
