Debra Kay Stubbs of Harrisburg

Debra Kay Stubbs, 54, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 at the home of her daughter.

Debra was born on Jan. 3, 1966 in Eldorado to Jerry and Beverly (Womack) Black. She married Arthur Stubbs on Oct. 4, 1986 and he survives in Harrisburg.

Debra was the director of the Harrisburg Project at the Regional Office of Education, where she was employed for 34 years.

Debra loved going to the beach particularly at Gulf Shores, Alabama. She was an amazing mom and Nana. She always put others before herself and her grandkids were her number one.

In addition to her husband, Arthur, Debra is survived by her daughter, Nichole Stubbs of Harrisburg; her parents, Jerry and Beverly Black of Harrisburg; grandson, Noah Stubbs of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Madelyn Stubbs of Harrisburg; aunt, Rita (Bill) Greer of Harrisburg; and aunt Pamela (John) Waller of Harrisburg.

Debra was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Madeline Womack, and her paternal grandparents, Clifford and Gladys Black.

Funeral services for Debra Kay Stubbs will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Keith Ital will officiate and burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 at Reed Funeral Chapel.
