MJHS baseball team rips Herrin, stays unbeaten

HERRIN -- The Marion Junior High School baseball team finished a sweep of the Big Seven Conference with a 12-0 five-inning win at Herrin on Thursday.

MJHS is now 19-0 overall and finished 12-0 in league play.

Karsten Stotlar pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

Mason Gooch went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Walker Fox had two hits and three RBIs and Kale Cameron had two hits and two RBIs in the win.

The Wildcats finish the regular season Friday against Du Quoin and then host an SIJHSAA Class L regional next week.
