MJHS boys use big third quarter to beat Benton

BENTON -- The Marion Junior High School boys basketball team used a big second half to beat Benton, 53-38, on the road Thursday night.

The game was tied at halftime, 26-26, but the Wildcats outscored Benton 11-1 in the third quarter to take control.

MJHS is now 18-1 overall and 11-0 in the Big Seven Conference. The win clinches the conference title for Marion with one game remaining.

Isaiah McLorn led Marion with 18 points, all but six coming in the second half.

Rayzhaun Bardo added 14 points, while Trevor Jackson hit three 3-pointers and chipped in 11 off the bench.

Deavon Margrum contribued four points, while DaMareon Cooper and Devyn Wright both had three for the Wildcats.

Marion finishes the regular season next Thursday with a home game against Carbondale.
