Crappie USA tourney coming in March to Lake of Egypt

WILLIAMSON COUNTY - Crappie USA, "America's Premier National Crappie Fishing Tournament Organization," will hit the waters of Lake of Egypt for a two-day super event March 16-17.

This is the opportunity for anglers to compete for a guaranteed $10,000-plus in prizes, as well as a chance to advance to the 2018 Cabela's Crappie USA Classic.

The Classic event will be Oct. 3–6 on Lake Cumberland at Somerset, Kentucky.

A pre-tournament seminar is scheduled for Thursday evening, March 15 at The Pavilion in Marion. Sign up will begin at 5 p.m. with the meeting and a national sponsor field test product drawing starting at 7 p.m. This seminar is open to the public.

Those not fishing the event are encouraged to come out to the meeting and meet the top crappie anglers from several different states. The tournament weigh-in will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17 at Pyramid Acres Marina, 12057 Marina Road, Marion, beginning at 3 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity for non-competitors to come and learn how the big ones are caught.

To enter the tournament, fill out and send in an entry form or register on the website at www.crappieusa.com before the deadline listed on the form.

Teams may also enter at the pre-tournament seminar on Thursday night (March 15) or call (502) 384-5924. All late entries will be subject to a $25 late fee.

Teams may consist of one or two partners. Teams may have a third partner if third partner is under the age of 16. Pole limits for three-partner teams will be the same as two-partner teams. Entry fees in all qualifying tournaments are $125 per team in the Amateur Division and $250 in the Professional Division. There is an optional $20 (Per Team) Big Fish Pot. All participants must be a member of the American Crappie Association to fish in these events. American Crappie Association membership is $30 for adults and $15 for spouse and youth memberships. Each membership will include a subscription to the official publication of Crappie USA, one of the top crappie fishing publications in the nation.
