Lady Vols sweep Lincoln Trail

CARTERVILLE - The John A. Logan College softball team swept Lincoln Trail, 8-7 and 15-3, for a pair of Great Rivers Athletic Conference wins Tuesday.

Logan is now 22-10 overall and 20-8 in the GRAC.

Alyssa Wright was the winning pitcher in the opener, with Bailey Anderson entering in the fifth and getting a save. Sarah Aldridge pitched the second game.

Sydney Levan had six hits in the twinbill, while Mikayla Chamness homered as part of a four-hit day. Taylor Rogers also had four hits and Rebecca Moffett, Lexi Childers and Lynnsay Wilson all had three hits. Makayla Smothers had two.

Logan returned to action Thursday at Wabash Valley and plays makeup games at Southeastern Illinois on Friday before traveling to Kaskaskia on Saturday and hosting Frontier on Sunday.
