WEST FRANKFORT -- Ethan Stout had three hits and drove in four runs as the Marion Junior High School baseball team cruised to a 14-0 five inning win over West Frankfort on Tuesday.
The Wildcats improved to 12-2 overall and 9-2 in the Big Seven Conference with the victory.
Evan Noelle pitched all five innings and gave up two hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
Nehemiah Goodman added two hits, two RBIs and scored twice, while Brody Larson also collected two hits and two runs scored. Chandler McReaken also had two hits.
On Monday, the Wildcats defeated Carbondale 23-1 in five innings at the Superblock. Noelle, Goodman and Larson all had three hits. Goodman scored three times and had three RBIs, Noelle scored three runs and drove in two and Larson scored twice and plated two more.
MJHS also learned its postseason path this week. The Wildcats will play in the SIJHSAA Class L Massac Regional and face Eldorado in the semifinals on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m., with the winner advancing to the championship on Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.
Harrisburg faces Massac County in the other semifinal, also on Sept. 19 in Metropolis.
