Coroner: No foul play suspected in Menard death

The Randolph County Coroner's Office and Illinois Department of Corrections are investigating the recent death of an inmate at Menard Correctional Center.

Anthony Mayer, 49, died Feb. 24 at the center. According to a release from Randolph County Coroner Carlos J. Barbour, the death appears to be self-inflicted and no foul play is suspected.

The cause of death is pending an autopsy and toxicology report.
