The son of Ray and Marie Rednour, he was born January 16, 1944 in Gorham, IL.

Kent was a graduate of Chester High School, Chester, IL.

Survivors include one sister, Sonia Silvania of Scotts Valley, CA; one brother, Roy Rednour of Chandler, AZ; one son, Lonnie Ray of Farmington, NM; one daughter, Amanda Schneider of Gilvert, AZ; and three grandchildren. He was the nephew of Pat Kaehn of Ava, IL, Beulah Thurman of Austin, TX, and Dorothy Andersen of Mason, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
