Pinckneyville School Chief Resigns
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Pinckneyville High School superintendent Brent Kreid has resigned his position effective June 30.
Kreid and wife Kim will relocate to Brentwood, Tenn, in suburban Nashville.
There they will enroll their children in the Brentwood Christian Academy.
Their four children are Maren, a seventh grader; Trey,a third grader; Kobe, a first grader and Zeb, a pre-kindergarten school.
Kreid's own plans as a gifted educator have not been announced. He has not been offered a position yet, but knows the opportunity will come. Wife Kim is a physical therapist.
Kreid said, "We are certainly leaving on good terms. This is a good community. This was simply an opportunity for my family I could not pass up."
In other action, the Pinckneyville Community High School board of education authorized Kreid to begin work on a 2009-2010 budget; hired high school senior Matt Davis as a parttime custodian through the school's co-op program; approved the shooting team's field trip to National Scholastic Sportsman Program Convention in Metropolis Feb. 20 and 21; and was provided with an update on building planning.
