Du Quoin School Board Candidates
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Retired Du Quoin Education Association president and longtime Du Quoin business educator Pat Ferrari and Chief of Police Mike Ward are among the seven seeking three seats on the District 300 Board of Education in the April election.
Incumbent Joe Day is seeking re-election to his seat, but incumbent members Paul Mc Pherson and Du Quoin Fire Chief Brett Crain are not seeking re-election. The seats are commonly referred to as the "in town" seats on the board.
Other petitioners seeking election include Rich Gossett, Charles "Beaver" Rice, Michael Schneider and Aaron Wright.
City of Du Quoin
Incumbent Du Quoin city council member Linda Fronek was the only candidate filing to fill the unexpired term of her late husband, Richard Fronek. Mrs. Fronek was appointed to fill her husband's unexpired term at his death, but she must now run again.
Pinckneyville High School Dist.101
Those filing for seats in the Pinckneyville Community High School district are: Alan Hastings, Kyle Pursell, Larry Hardin, Brian Kellerman, Dwight Bigham, Steve Ginn. Deon Johnston, Mike Chapman and Michelle Breslin.
The seats of Mark Lee, Mark Smith, Ray Winter and Wayne Hawkins are up for election. None of those incumbents filed for re-election.
Pinckneyville District 50
Those filing in the Pinckneyville Elementary School District 50 election are: Deon Johnston, Marilyn S. Millikin, Keith Hagene and Scott A. Carney. Johnston, Millikin and Carney are the incumbents in that district.
Pinckneyville District 204
In District 204, those filing for election for one two-year term Jeffrey Suchomski(running to fill the seat held by Marion Logan) and for three four-year term seats Rebecca Przygoda, Kristy L. King, Marion Logan, Sean Carter, Roxanne Place, Cynthia Opp and Rudy Stowers (seats currently held Mike Millikin, Cindy Opp and Cheryl Hagene).
Tamaroa Grade School
In the Tamaroa Grade School district, the four seats up for election are currently held by Jeff Brocaille, Tim Cockrum, Monica Crawford and Clinton Furlow. Candidates seeking those seats are Clinton Furlow, Sherri Phillips and John Davison with no candidates for the fourth seat.
