Newspaper to Change Publishing Schedule

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Effective Monday, February 9th--10 days from now--the Du Quoin Evening Call will change its publishing schedule and will print Monday through Friday each week, ending the Saturday morning publication.

The reason for the change is two-fold 1.) the Du Quoin Evening Call's sister newspapers in Benton, West Frankfort, Marion and Harrisburg have all agreed to a five-day publication schedule and this new schedule is a better fit for the newspaper's central printing complex located in West Frankfort, and 2.) the change improves the publication window for funeral homes and other time sensitive businesses that rely on the newspaper for the distribution of important community news and information.

With respect to Friday afternoon and Friday night sports, the staff will continue on a work schedule that allows that material to be placed on our Web site duquoin.com in a timely manner.
