New City-Wide Connect program to inform Steeleville of important information
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[There will be a new city-wide calling system set up by the Steeleville City Board. The Connect-CTY program is available on the Village of Steeleville website. The program is a useful tool to get valuable information to community members. It is a "village-to-resident notification system" which will get pertinent information to Steeleville residents via the phone system. The system allows village leadership to create a message that can be rapidly sent out to the community. This is good for emergency situations such as storm warnings, power outages, and things of that nature. The Steeleville schools are also looking into integrating this system in order to tell people about school closings and other important school related information. The Fire Department and Police Department are going to integrate this system into their protocol as well. More information can be found at www.steeleville.org.
There may be new stop signs going up at Steeleville. The Village Board is looking into the intersection of Mulberry and Walnut, near the Peace Lutheran Church and the Masonic Temple. They are also looking into the little street of Seneca. The Board will be assessing the situations and discussing ordinance issues in the next few months.
