Tuesday Boys Preps: Shawnee Handles Elverado

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ A fast starting and quick-finishing group of Shawnee Redskins extended Elverado's current losing streak to eight games Tuesday night, handing the Fighting Falcons a 61-44 defeat in Piper/Valerius Gymnasium.

Elverado, 1-24, finishes regular season play at home with Trico Friday night.

Prior to the contest, Senior Night activities will honor Coy Cobin, Grant Choate, Blake Bishop, Teagan Armstrong and Gary McCormick.

Cobin paced Elverado against Shawnee with 13 points.

Kyle Kempfer added 10 points and Herby Sandlin seven more as Shawnee jumped ahead 16-9 and 33-22 by the first two quarter-stops.

A 19-11 fourth quarter edge then sewed up the win for the visitors.

Clay Murphy of Shawnee led all scorers with 18 points.
