The transition fair is to be held Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 10:00-5:00 pm at the Red Bud SWIC (Southwestern Illinois College) Campus, located at 500 W. South 4th Street in Red Bud, IL. 62278
Those that would benefit from attending the transition fair are all high school aged special education students, their parents, teachers and recent special education graduates.
Over 40 agencies/organizations will be at the fair to provide information regarding the services that are available to the students.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who attend to learn about the community resources that can help special education students and their families plan for their futures.
A special feature at the fair this year is the addition of guest speakers that will be presenting throughout the day. The following agencies will be presenting information on the agency that they work for: SWIC Job Placement Specialist/Financial Aid, Guardianship and Advocacy, Southern Illinois Case Coordination (SICC), Transit District, Military, Education and Developmental Center and New Visions.
