These parade participants in the Du Bois Polishfest parade Sunday are pictured climbing onboard their "Bicycle Built for 13" during the town's hour-long parade in the 30-degree cold. Polish American war veterans rode on floats, bands played and some of the greatest food on earth was served. There were great floats and polka music. Even the "Young Milwaukee Beer Drinkers of America" had their own floats. Pulaski Day is a holiday observed in Illinois on the first Monday of every March to commemorate Casimir Pulaski, a Revolutionary War cavalry officer born March 4, 1747 in Poland as Kazimierz Pulaski. He is known for his contributions to the U.S. military in the American Revolution by training its soldiers and cavalry.
