Anyone who has moved or changed their name since the last election should update their information quickly.

First time voters can register at the County Clerk‚s office in the Perry County Government Building in Pinckneyville, at the City Clerk‚s office in Du Quoin, or with Democratic or Republican precinct committeemen or deputy registrars anywhere in the county. At the Consolidated Election, voters will elect candidates to village positions in the Villages of Cutler, St. Johns, Tamaroa and Willisville. Du Quoin voters will fill a two-year unexpired term on the City Council. School board members and community college trustees will also be elected in all districts. Additionally, voters in the Village of Tamaroa will decided a referendum question about imposing a community sales tax.

Kern said first time voters and voters who have had a name change should complete a new registration card by the March 10 deadline. Registered voters who have moved within the county should update their information by calling the County Clerk‚s office by March 10.
