835 Dirt Bikers Meet from Across the US
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[At last count, 835 dirt bike riders from all over the United States--including states like Texas, New York and California--were in Du Quoin over the weekend for three days of motocross at the Paradise dirt track on Green's Market Road near New Kathleen Mine Road. Dr. and Mrs. Doug Cochran are owners of the facility and have been hosting dirt bike and four-wheeler ATV events for the last 10 years. This weekend's competition qualified riders for the Loretta Lynn national championships to be held in Tennessee this summer. Don Hudson of Dallas, Texas said his son, now 16, has been competing for the past 10 years. Sunday's day of racing included a very special event, a wedding ceremony for motocross announcer Guy Whitecotton and his bride.
