Citywide Boil Order Lifted

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ The citywide boil order Du Quoin had been under since Wednesday night was lifted Saturday. Testing at 10 sites around the city began on Thursday and came back negative for bacteria.

The boil order was invoked after Du Quoin's water tower emptied because of the failure of an automatic pump in the Christopher area. The city became inundated with calls from the public about drinking water safety, including this one: "Is it safe to drink water from your refrigerator door?" and "How long should I boil water before it's safe?"
