Over the past few days, Hill has taken the majority of the practice reps and Dorados coach Marty Hammond has informed the Southern Illinois product that he will be starting the team's season opener on March 28 at Corpus Christi.

Hill's play in the first game will likely determine if he keeps the starting job.

Hill played college ball at Southern Illinois from 2004-2007 after transferring from Western Kentucky and demonstrated great accuracy, completing 68.2 percent of his passes as a Saluki.

He was an all-state basketball and football player at Du Quoin, eventually accepting a basketball scholarship from Western Kentucky.
