DMS VOLLEYBALL: Lady Warriors Reach Regional Finals

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ Defending Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association (SIJHSAA) Class L State Champion Du Quoin (Middle School) remained alive in its quest for a repeat title as regional tournament play began Monday.

The host Lady Warriors easily handled West Frankfort (25-7, 25-14) to win the first of two semifinal games in Region IV play.

Du Quoin, 27-5-1, advances to play Herrin (Middle School) in Tuesday's championship match. Start time is 6:30 with a trip to the state tournament hanging in the balance.

Herrin needed three games to oust Trico.

"We look forward to playing Herrin and they are definitely big up front," DMS coach Isaac Miller said. "But we feel very confident in our girls. I think these girls want to really prove they belong back in the state tournament."

Kate Toler had 11 points at the serving line for DMS with Rebekah Maddox (11 kils) dominating play up front.

Jessie Martin passed out five assists and Cassidy Rice added eight digs.
